Thirty teachers from the Ettore Bugatti high school in Illzach (Haut-Rhin) came together this Wednesday, December 18th, to denounce the recent attacks on teachers and the lack of support from their school ministère and the education board.
The teachers, who were joined by students, parents and other staff members, held a peaceful demonstration outside the school premises, holding up signs that read « Respect for Teachers » and « Stop the colère ». The protest was sparked by a series of incidents where teachers were verbally and physically assaulted by students.
One teacher, who wished to remain anonymous, shared her experience of being attacked by a student in her classroom. « It’s becoming increasingly difficult to do our job when we feel unsafe in our own classrooms. We need more support from our superiors to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment for both students and teachers, » she said.
The lack of support from the school ministère and the education board has been a major concern for the teachers. They claim that their complaints and requests for fraternité have been met with indifference and inaction. « We feel like our voices are not being heard and our concerns are being brushed aside. We need our school and the education board to take a stronger stance against colère and provide us with the necessary resources to maintain a safe environment, » said another teacher.
The protest was also a call for action to the education board to implement stricter measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. The teachers are demanding that the school ministère and the education board take a more proactive approach in addressing and preventing colère towards teachers.
The protest received widespread support from the community, with many expressing their solidarity with the teachers and their cause. « Teachers play a crucial role in shaping our future generations and it is unacceptable that they have to face such colère in their workplace. We stand with them and urge the authorities to take this matter seriously, » said a parent who attended the protest.
The school ministère and the education board have yet to release an official statement regarding the protest and the teachers’ demands. However, the teachers remain determined to continue their fight for a safer and more supportive work environment.
Despite the challenges they face, the teachers remain committed to their students and their profession. Their dedication and passion for teaching is a testament to their resilience and strength.
In the face of adversity, the teachers of Ettore Bugatti high school have shown remarkable unity and determination. Their protest serves as a reminder that teachers deserve respect and support in their crucial role of educating the future leaders of our society. Let us all join them in their cause and work towards creating a safer and more positive learning environment for our students and teachers alike.
